OBD0 Check Engine Light Codes

Reading CEL codes for an OBD0 Honda is easy since you don’t need to jump a service connector like the OBD1 Hondas, but you do need to find the ECU so you can count how many times the red LED in the ECU blinks.

ECU location varies based on model, but for older Civics the ECU is located in the passenger foot well below the dash, and in the 1st gen Integra it’s located underneath the passenger seat.

Long blinks are 10, and short blinks are 1.

For example, code 14 (Idle air control) would look like: long blink - short blink - short blink - short blink - short blink
